About Wild Fox

A neighbourhood reformer studio on Canford Lane, not a chain. Built on experience and a love of detail, with classes small enough that nobody feels unseen.

Why the fox?

Agile, adaptable, clever and go-getting. Cheeky, too.

Rose started thinking about Wild Fox 10 years ago. Working as a personal trainer in Exeter, she loved the people: tailoring movement to different bodies and celebrating their wins. But she wanted to go deeper, beyond reps and sets, into the science underneath.

She moved to London and began training in mat and reformer Pilates. It completely changed the way she approached exercise. The anatomy, the mechanics, the level of detail: it was exactly what she'd been missing.

She started teaching at studios across London, some over an hour from home. Out of the house at 5am, the streets still dark and quiet, she'd walk to the tube and often see foxes. They became a regular sighting.

She stayed in London for five years and learned a lot, from teaching big classes to adapting across lots of different methods. But she'd always wanted to build something of her own, rooted in everything she'd learned about movement and Pilates. When she met her partner, she told him she'd been thinking about opening a studio. Not in London, not in Exeter: Bristol. Big city energy, but somewhere you can put down real roots.

They moved in right around the corner.

How we teach

We believe Pilates is for everyone. Never done it before? Done it forever? You're welcome. There'll be options throughout class, ways to make exercises more supportive or more challenging, and we'll encourage you to take the one that's best for you.

And it's fun. We take the work seriously, the detail, the method, the why behind every exercise, but not ourselves. It is more than okay to laugh, sometimes growl. No permission needed.

A class is 50 minutes. Time to slow down, check in with your body and actually feel the work. Whatever brings you through the door, we've got you.

Small on purpose

Classes are small so no one feels unseen or like just another number, and the teaching always adapts to the bodies in the room. Wherever you are with Pilates, we'll meet you there.

Our teachers

Who runs Wild Fox Pilates?

Rose Reynolds, our co-founder and lead instructor. Rose teaches every class at launch, and more teachers will join as the studio grows.

When do you open?

Classes start in early November 2026, on Canford Lane in Westbury-on-Trym.

I'm completely new to Pilates. Where should I start?

Fox Fundamentals is made for you. We'll break down the core Pilates principles so you can build real awareness in your body, then take time with the essential exercises so you can feel what you're doing. Over time the shapes and patterns repeat and everything clicks into place. We all started somewhere.

What do I need to bring?

Grip socks, water and a small towel, as some days it's a hot one. Something comfy to move in (no jeans, please). We'll take care of the rest.

Is there parking?

Yes. There's free parking right outside on Canford Lane, with a 1-hour limit, which works because class is 50 minutes. There's also parking at Westbury Methodist Church, 5 minutes' walk away, 7 days a week with a 3-hour maximum stay.
